Effigy presentsĀ ALCESTĀ plus special guests AgricultureĀ Wednesday 17 March 2027Ā Electric Bristol As the world we live in grows darker and more bewildering with every passing day, the transformative power of music has never been more vital. Formed in the small French town of Bagnols-sur-CĆØze at the dawn of the century, underground icons Alcest have always been clear about their desire to transport listeners to somewhere different, somewhere better. Led by founder and multi-instrumentalist Neige, the French artists have been one of the most consistently radical voices in all of heavy music, with a sound that eschews metalās often myopic devotion to casting shadows, in favour of a sublime blend of darkness and blinding bright light. Likewise, Agriculture, claw toward the divine through noise, channeling Zen Buddhism, historical collapse and ecstatic grief, as demonstrated on āThe Spiritual Soundā, their acclaimed sophomore record. Agriculture doesnāt offer salvation. The Spiritual Sound isnāt a map out of the fire. What it offers instead is presence: a confrontation with the moment, however unbearable, however divine. In Alcest and Agriculture, audiences will be treated to two of alternative musicās most thrilling and rapturous double-bills to grace Bristol in 2027. Get your tickets now.
