Bristol Pride

Bristol Pride is one of the United Kingdom’s most vibrant annual LGBTQ+ festivals, celebrating equality, diversity and community in Bristol, England. Organised by volunteers and run as a registered charity, the festival aims to challenge homophobia, biphobia and transphobia while bringing people together for joyful and inclusive events.

Pride Day 2026 will take place on Saturday 11 July on The Downs.

Each year Pride takes place across the first two weeks of July, culminating in a major Pride Day festival and Parade March on the second Saturday of the month. The events programme typically blends talks, film screenings, comedy, music, theatre, cabaret and community activities, with the highlight being the colourful march through the city centre and the multi-stage outdoor celebration on The Downs.

The Parade March is free to join and brings tens of thousands together to walk through Bristol in a powerful display of solidarity and visibility. It celebrates LGBTQ+ identities and allies alike and emphasises both protest and pride as central to the movement.

Pride Day transforms The Downs into one of the UK’s largest festival spaces, featuring multiple stages of live performances, food and market stalls, community areas and family-friendly zones. In recent years the event has attracted more than 40,000 attendees, with around 25,000 taking part in the parade.

The first Pride events in Bristol were held in the late 1970s and, after a period of hiatus, the festival was revived in 2010. Since then it has grown significantly, becoming one of the UK’s most important Pride celebrations.

Throughout, Bristol Pride maintains a strong commitment to accessibility and community focus. Donation-based entry helps ensure the celebrations remain open to all, while wristbands and fundraising support the charity’s year-round work promoting equality, inclusion and support for the LGBTQ+ community.
